Rio Marina is a characteristic mining town on the eastern coast of the island of Elba.
The Casa Valdese, which started out as a school for the children of miners and sailors, was transformed into a holiday centre for the Protestant churches and social ministry institutes of Tuscany in the 1950’s. Now completely refurbished, the house is open to families and to groups from abroad or from Italy.

 

It has a total of 15 rooms with 2 to 4 beds, each with a private bathroom, and a beautiful garden where hours of relaxation can be enjoyed.

It is possible to organize pleasant excursions on the island of Elba at any time of the year.
The proximity of the sea ( 5 minutes walk ) and the mining site, the beauty of the tiny coves and the climate which is mild, both in autumn and winter, make it an ideal place for a quiet holiday.
